OfficeMax's private label DiVoga was built as a cross generation product, marketed to women from 16-40, many women shopping with their daughters. X&O's was created with a modern, fun, twist, with a geometric nod to the hugs and kisses, but with upscale hardware and products to cross all age groups.
Every year Optum Health hosts a brand/campaign meeting with their agencies from all over the United States to provide updates on current brand guidelines and preview the years new campaign. With agencies spread out across the country the goal was to simplify the current 385 page style guide to lighter 165 pages. We also created “Quick Guides” for brand managers for faster reference.
After merging with Emmi of Switzerland, Roth Kase Cheese of Monroe Wisconsin wanted to update and modernize their growing brand. Knowing that the land, "terrain", made their cheese stand out, this became our brand story. Over 75 SKUs were designed along with collateral and in-store materials.
ACF was created to help composers engage in communities with music as a source of inspiration, self-reflection and delight. ACF has been my client since 1993, I have worked on everything from their logos, annual reports, special grant programs, fundraising, public relations as well as their web and interactive, making sure the brand continues on all platforms.

Showcasing the quality and craftsmanship of their products, Lunds & Byerlys grocery asked for an upscale re-fresh of their packaging and collateral materials. Focusing on the culinary and curated, the brand now has a chef inspired look, with crisp white packaging letting the food speak for itself.

Showcasing the global market trends, we utilized kraft paper and chipboard backdrops with overlays of bright colors, in Turkish and eastern patterns that evoke the feeling of shopping in a Persian market.
Popkeen is a fun and healthy Quiona snack, new to the market in 2013. Wanting to create a fresh look, while still feeling like it fit in with the snack food arena, we chose to have snack packs in crisp, white wedge shaped packages while the family size package would be kraft bags with clear window to see the actual product and give integrity to the puffs themselves.
I believe a logo is personal, it should reflect what you do and who you are. It is an extension of your personality...it should fit, not feel out of place as you hand it to your customers.
This might be my favorite part of being a designer (next is mood boards), I get to know my clients through this process, understanding how they see their business now and in the future—this is how I build relationships, by listening and delivering above expectations.
Audubon is a collection designed with a classic style in mind. With Baroque finials, black linen bindings and copperplate etched animals printed on natural kraft paper, this gave an aged effect of old audubon drawings. The entire collection had over 200 SKUs, a style guide, including color, paper, printing treatments and hardware specifications.
Sweetie Pie, created for the Back to School product line was built on a collection of patterns that supported the main owl graphic. The patterns together created a mash up that was fun, youthful, creative and energetic—alone the patterns could be used as modern, simple graphics and give the product line room to branch out to older audiences.

In 2006 OfficeMax asked us to rethink their private label product, from the end user, pattern development to products and production. These lines of product came from trend research, shopping competitor and market similar products, in-store testing and custom pattern design/illustrations.
